Support for Business

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is committed to supporting economic growth in the region. We provide a range of information and advice to assist businesses no matter what stage they are at.

Whether you’re just starting out in business or looking to grow or innovate your current operations, it’s important to understand finance options and opportunities beyond the traditional bank loan. There are a range of government financial incentives, public and privately funded grants and other sources of finance available to most businesses.

Support for Community

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council encourages the community to apply for all available funding to support events, programs and initiatives. If your application involves a Council owned facility, parkland or sporting ground, please contact Council as early as possible to apply for permissions, prior to submitting your application.

Grants assist community groups to deliver a particular community service or address an identified need such as new community infrastructure or host an event/festival. Many community grants fall within the following categories:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Sport and Recreation
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Heritage
  • Community Service Initiatives

Information on Council’s Community Grants and Event Sponsorship Program can be found on our website.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has partnered with My Community Directory to provide a local community directory and diary.

The online directory of community groups, services and facilities, provides up-to-date information for community organisations who provide services in the region as well as showing upcoming events in the area. It’s FREE to list and FREE to search.

The directory will become a key contact database for the community sector, and an important online resource to connect people with local health, social and community services.
